T.W.M. →Traveling Without Moving
Traveling Without Moving is an heterogeneous audio series that wants to investigate and learn more about places, people, music scenes and artists around the world, through the power of our ears.
In each chapter a musician/producer or a label will be our guide.
The Focus of TWM will be a city, a country or just a particular music/cultural scene.
27/03/2021 - T.W.M → South Africa w/ seventhgaze
“For my trip, I thought I would walk through a few works by modern South African composers who are shaping the sound of today. some pieces glide and drift, challenge and make you think twice. others sit almost-still and suspend you in space, orthey lie somewhere snug in between. wherever it is, it sounds like us. This is, by no means, the full scope into all that is happening – but a glimpse into the blooming and broad sounds coming out of South Africa’s modern classical and experimental scenes.”
20/03/2021 - T.W.M → South Africa w/ Jackie Queens
Chilled out experimental, groovy and wiggly music from South Africa.
Jackie chose music that she was listening to during lockdown. Without the opportunity to go out she turned to reorient herself with artists whose music is more meaningful in these times where clubbing doesn’t fit. Some of it new, most of it not and it seems this time allowed space for ruminating and reconnecting.

A Conversation Between Two Capitals of Sonic Giants, Durban and Chicago.
This mix is a conversation between two capitals of sonic giants, Durban and Chicago. Travelling by postcards written in the language of repeating vocals, tom rolls, precision snares and pulsing bass. Gqom and Footwork were both created specifically for the club. Both genres are shaped by a symbiotic relationship between producers, DJs and dancers. The gradual speeding up of Chicago House lead to the birth of Footwork and the sound of Durban’s Gqom was shaped by the party-going passengers and drivers of Taxis. Big love to the originators and the innovators evolving the sounds every day.

06/03/2021 - T.W.M → South Africa w/ Rose Bonica
The more gentle and emotional side of the South African Electronic music scene.
Rose is going to take you on a journey through South Africa’s more vocal and emotional electronic music scene. I’m going to share music from voices I feel deserve to be heard outside of South Africa and that inspire me to go further with my own sound. It’s going to be a gentle ride and I’m going to share a lot more of the vocal side of South African electronic music. It’s mostly quite experimental and I slowly pick up the pace towards the ends of the show. Please enjoy this journey through our scene.
